This is the radio communication/conversation between air traffic control and a Mitsubishi MU-2 that suffered severe icing - and was losing altitude. FAST! Dropping like a stone!
Egad! This is spooky! Especially to pilots who understand what these guys were up against. Iced up. IFR. Over the mountains. Double engine failure. Not much else could happen to make things worse, unless they were also on FIRE. Thank God (and especially the rapid, correct actions by the pilots) they survived. If you are a non-pilot and can't comprehend exactly how BAD their situation was, suffice it to say - they were in VERY deep doo-doo and within maybe one minute of being a FATAL accident.
These pilots must be VERY proficient to accomplish what they did under these dire circumstances.
