Two planes got a little too close at O'Hare
« on: March 02, 2019, 02:42:22 PM »

On Friday, March 1, 2019, Envoy 3603 (Emb-145) started to veer towards AA 272 (B737) as they took off on parallel runways.

The Embraer was taking off on Rwy 10L and the 737 was taking off on Rwy 9R to the north. They were being handled by different towers.

Definitely got the attention of the controller in the South Tower...

Thanks for sharing. I went a bit more into the feeds and still wondering how this happened. Assume they just forgot to set the 100 heading or something.

According to ADSB data and our radar representation, they came about 0.8NM close horizontally and 200ft vertically at a point. Good job by both controllers for a quick response.
