Extracts from 1 hour of KOSH ATC on 24 July local.

Assuming this sample is fairly typical of normal activity, it sounds as though visiting the show by air must be quite a hazardous business for all concerned. Are there no safety concerns? I can't imagine this level of activity being permitted in the UK (or even continental Europe for that matter).

Yeah its sorta ridiculous. Every year is an accident waiting to happen....and pretty much every year one does happen.

The arrival procedures are actually very straightforward. The arrival procedures are all pre-coordinated via a publicly-available NOTAM. It sounds a lot worse than it actually is.
