Title: KSNA - NASA F-18 Flight Testing off Coast
Post by: XTSKid on May 12, 2006, 07:47:09 PM
Heard this one today on my KSNA feed of a Nasa F-18 doing flight testing over the water off of Dana Point, CA. Clip is edited to only contain communcations from the controller to/from and from the aircraft.

I thought it was pretty cool how fast the pilot brought it down from 8,500 to 4,500, I left alone the elapsed time in between the approval for decent from the controller and the pilot calling level 4,500 to give you an idea. -15,000ft/min?    Enjoy!

When done, he picked up an IFR Clearance over the closed El Toro Marine Base back to edwards (excluded from clip)

Controller: "Did you have to go inverted for that descent?"
NASA F-18 Pilot: "No, not at all."

HAHA!!  I love it. That's a nice grab...
