KPHL-baggage cart blown near the runway
« on: February 28, 2012, 07:47:49 AM »
Was near Philly Intl. and heard this on my scanner. I later came back to LiveATC and got the audio.

The high winds on the East Coast this past weekend caused a baggage cart to be blown down a taxiway and almost on to a runway resulting in a go-around and traffic being shifted to one runway for about 15 min. while they moved it. Listen as the controllers handle traffic on only one runway

This clip is long because I left in a lot of the traffic that the controllers were handling. I will post a shorter clip for those who want it, sooner.

edited for silence and unrelated traffic. Enjoy!

Here is a shortened clip for those who can't/don't want to download a big file. This clip just contains the traffic the was near relevant to the situation.

Enjoy!

I noticed that the site wouldn't let be upload both files at one time...does anyone have that same problem?  :?

 :-D

You should have read the instructions for that, 9000 kb at one time..
Both files together are close to that.....

-----> Maximum attachment size allowed: 90000 KB, per post: 4 <---------

It says 90000 but should be 9000 .....

yes, I know that there is a limit but both files are still under that limit so I should have been able to upload them both at the same time....

Are you also making sure to keep the recordings at 16kb/s?  If so you should not run into the limit.

I just checked...looks like the file is 56kb/s - since the streams are at 16kb/s you get nothing but increased file size by exporting them at 56kb/s.  So you probably want to check your settings in whatever app you are using.

no, I don't usually go that low as far as 16kbs/sec....I think that these are at 56kb/s or something like that. I try to keep them as low as possible without loosing the audio quality...

yeah, I realize that now....since I use Audacity for other stuff at higher quality, I have to make sure that I change the settings every time I do these type of clips
