Title: KOMA - Piper Malibu Meridian Crash - Mechanical Failure
Post by: Spencerr11 on December 10, 2015, 07:33:25 PM
Around 11:50am CT N145JR crashed on I-29 after clipping power lines with the landing gear. The report says he radioed into Tower to return to the airport. The audio picks up when Tower doesn't have a target on his radar screen.

Flightaware shows his flight plan was to Colorado.

He was apparently an above average pilot, at least as far as the FAA was concerned:

all it says is he's listed in the database. So? Every pilot is. Not a very good article.
