Key Lime Air Witchita KS prop strikes
« on: December 20, 2022, 07:39:09 AM »
(From Aviation Accidents)

Key Lime Air flight LYM147, a Swearingen SA226-TC Metro II, registration N398KL, landed gearup on runway 01L at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT/KICT), Wichita, Kansas, went around and returned for a safe landing on the same runway.

The airplane sustained unspecified damage (All 6 props struck runway, causing tips on all props to break off). The pilot was not injured.
The aircraft departed Dodge City Municipal Airport (DDC/KDDC), Kansas, and was headed to KICT. A review of the ATC recording shows that the initial approach was a casual/usual approach/landing phase with no reported problems. The pilot went around and asked to land on runway 01L again, it appears the pilot may have forgotten to lower the gear on the initial approach/landing.
"Affirmative, had ahh, had a... a gear up landing".
