Caught this 1/16/2011 while listening to KEWR - NY Approach RBV. Listen for Continental 1915 (COA1915).
Sounds like the NY Jets on their way back to NY after their big win.
I cut out most of the other traffic and followed it to the tower...
This is my first audio post...any help is welcome!

Nice catch! Seems Continental has used this flight number several times for Jets flights as evidenced by the Flightaware log for COA1915.

There is one thing i can recommend. Drop the bit rate of the audio to decrease the file size. I made the same mistake on my first post.
Usually ATC feeds don't need to be in stereo, mono would do just fine. These two tips would save on upload/download time.
GREAT catch btw :D

In case you missed it, your handy work got picked up by CNN. Nice work on a first recording.

NBC nightly news just did a piece on it. They played the ATC comms and showed a shot of the Empire State Building lit up in NY Jets colors.

JFK tower is lit up green... why no fly by there?

Great clip! Nice job!

Pretty cool! Hope it's Jet v. Packers for the SB...

Agreed! Packers-Jets would be sweet!
Jet Blue has been named the "Official Air Carrier Of The New York Jets". Airbus A320-232 N746JB (cn 3622) sports the new Jets scheme in the photo below...Jet...Green?

If JetBlue is the official carrier of the Jets, then why was Continental flying them back to KEWR?

My guess would be they needed a larger aircraft then JetBlue could provide. JetBlue only features A320 series aircraft and E190 series aircraft. The aircraft used on this flight, as well as the one today that carried the team to KPIT to face the Steelers, was a Boeing 767-400. In the past, this flight was also filled with a Boeing 757-300. You will need to login on FlightAware to view the entire history.

Other than having larger a/c they are partially based in Newark, which is a stone throws away from the Meadowlands. I'm sure that has something to do with it.

JetBlue flies into EWR also. I'm sure it was a matter of size. On the night they lost, I worked a JetBlue flight from PIT to JFK. The pilot joked that he had a lot of sad faces on board. I wonder if that was the team? The flight number was 8558 or something...

Thats definetly an unusual flight #.

Doubtful...the team usually goes into KEWR, which, as toeknee25 pointed out, is real close to The Meadowlands...
