JFK Plane decides to go home upon advisory from Tower
« on: May 15, 2010, 02:26:05 AM »
Clip of a piper turning back after being advised of severe weather. Nice work by JFK tower to take the time to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe!

The "I love thunderstorm" comment I don't think is from the piper but thought it was fun to keep in there.

Weather system in question:

Here's some more JFK activity during that time period.
I did some heavy editing to keep the file small.

The controller working the piper (and on parts of the second post) is my favorite at KJFK. He always speaks slowly and pronounces everything carefully, especially when dealing with the non-English speaking crews, yet he never seems to have trouble fitting it all in, no matter how crazy things get. Some of the other tower controllers talk in machine-gun bursts, then have to repeat large portions of what they've said. Of course, everyone working KJFK tower is incredibly competent, I just think this guy's technique is the most efficient.

And thanks folks for both posts.

Nothing like pop-up thunderstorms.

At first I was wondering who could be so mean, then I realize it was you and you probably work right next to him, if you are not him!  :-D

Ha ha, probably shouldn't have posted that. It's not that he's mean at all, it's that he's annoying, INCREDIBLY so! Imagine co-ordinating with Mr. Rogers or Ned Flanders...

Work in Glen Car's Shoe's for a little while, then decide.... I'm sure other TRACON and Tower controllers have similar opinions

One day, dmlas, hopefully you will learn to type without turning on all caps, because it is INCREDIBLY annoying to read.

Also, since you obviously are taking things way too seriously, and probably not understanding the context (think about Mr. Rogers or Ned Flangers for a while - in fact, I don't entirely understand but I think I get where he is going with it), here is a photo of a cat flying on an airplane:

He may be annoying! But somehow, he always gets the job done. Just like the grumpy one, that always works the midnight shift. He's not as arrogant, as he used to be. I miss, some of that!

LOL.. LAS..  See that key to the left side of the A key, that says Capslock.. If you press it,  see the light on the keyboard turns either on or off.  Press it until the light turns off.  Then reply..

I hate CLBs (Capslock B!tches)

it's a friendly forum,  it's cool to state your opinion but shouting at everyone is certainly uncalled for.
