Below is an ATIS broadcast from JFK last Saturday (11/04/06) at 1551z (10:51 AM EST) that was originally posted by "Senga" on another forum (NYCAviation.com).
Apparently the JFK controllers are getting pretty fed up with the 31R ILS being out-of-service. Flight Check 67 (FLC67) was "flight checking" the ILS last week sometime when I was listening and the controllers weren't being all that friendly to the FLC pilots (although the pilot in the Flight Check aircraft was pleasant on the frequency).
On a side note, I was told that one or two controllers used to fool around with the ATIS broadcasts at Bridgeport Tower (KBDR) 20 years ago or so, and even after being instructed by the FAA to stop (even after it wasn't funny anymore), continued to make funny remarks on the ATIS broadcast. Those controllers continued to disobey the FAA's instruction and were later fired due to their actions.
Listen to the remarks/NOTAMs towards the end of the clip and you'll hear the remarks a controller in the tower must have typed into the computer...presented by your one and only, Microsoft Sam.
Enjoy,
Jason

Is that the old "perfect paul" voice from NWS/NOAA broadcast until the new replacement broadcast voices came in recently, it sounds alot like "perfect paul" to me.
-
Yes, it is. The NWS still uses Perfect Paul for the time on reports. "The current time is 11:01 PM Eastern Standard Time"
