Title: JFK Area Violating Aircraft @ 1434z
Post by: Jason on June 18, 2006, 10:43:10 AM
The controller working the ROBER sector in the JFK area of N90 (NY TRACON; more generally NY Approach) pointed out a "violating aircraft" to JBU1005 who's mode C reported 2400 feet today around 1434z.  The JetBlue pilot reported the traffic at 2500 on TCAS, but due to some haze, they didn't make contact with the a/c and therefore couldn't see the N-number.

The JetBlue pilot made a remark that went something like this: "..and a very happy fathers day to our violator"
...the controller responded: "Yea, I'm sure he's not going to like the phone call hes going to get"

Rule #1: Don't violate the NY Class B airspace.  It's a big no-no.

I'll post the clip once the archive is out.

haha, "Controller: and also hopefully we can verify the altitude and make sure he actually did violate"
