I'm sure KJFK has significant challenges for Ground and Tower and I don't envy the people that do that for a living day in, day out.  I also don't envy pilots who are not familiar with the airport and its procedures - which differ quite considerably from those at many overseas airfields.

However, controllers elsewhere generally seem to cope with difficult situations without the need for frequent aggressiveness and lack of empathy that seems to be the hallmark of some of the guys there.  Clear radio communication is an art and has to be aimed at the recipient of the call - i.e. slowly and clearly when there is risk of miscommunication (it SAVES time in the long run).  Maybe the training or supervision is lacking at KJFK.  Maybe the guy just needs a vacation.

And, no, I wouldn't like to swap places with him!

Oh its so funny, esp when Ground is telling Asiana that ramp control doesn't control taxiways - you can hear somebody stressing out in the background.
