Don't you forget your name sometimes too ?
-
haha
pilots do this all the time!
it amazes me...they can readback anything i whip out at them...like a long ILS clearance or a climb/turn our of certain altitude clearance...but they can't remember their call sign...i always get a giggle.
"turn right heading 280, maintain 3000 until established, cleared ils rwy 31 approach maintain 170 knots until FORUM, Skywest...uuu....uhmm.....who are we?"
i hear that like once a day lol
-

Easy to remember your name when its the only one you use. But when your name changes six times a day 20 times a week it becomes easy to forget. Hey even Sully did it. :-D

you know this is kind of a scary thought really lol..it would probably be scarier if someone heard this and never flew before lol...thats what we should do...find ppl that are afraid to fly and play clips like this for them lol...and then for added scare, tell them that these instances are what cause crashes lol...we know it has nothing to do with crashes but the "victim" probably wouldnt lol...

I've forgot my callsign a couple times. I usually fly 2 aircraft. One is Cherokee 74K and the other is Cherokee 74N. Very easy to slip and use the wrong callsign.
I'm sure djmodifyd has heard me do that before.

Same here. During my flight training at KPWK, we have a Cessna 4SA, Cessna 4FA, Cessna 4MA, and Cessna 8MA all from one FBO. I've done pattern work where all of them are on tower, and I usually switch between the aircraft every few lessons or so, so it gets pretty confusing!

And add in the fact that sometimes our ATC callsign is different from our flight number. Call ramp with the full callsign only to call ground and use a completely different one....It sure gets sporty from time to time. (And doing a different flight up to 7 times a day)
