Title: Hospital helicopter breaks skid, lands on mattresses at KSAT
Post by: notaperfectpilot on August 06, 2012, 04:01:09 PM
A hospital helicopter struck a cell tower knocking its left skid off. Thanks to the quick thinking pilot and firemen, he landed on three mattresses that were grabbed from the firehouse. Interesting conversation follows....

edited for silence and unrelated traffic

I heard of them trying the same thing with a harrier who's gear didn't come down...it didn't end very well for the airframe.

I'd like to see some pictures of this. Great idea for whoever came up with it.

I wish my feed sounded better. I'd really love to split up the app/dep from the grd/twr freqs. I'd love to have the money to spend on a new scanner and see if that clears up the feed a bit. I've already tried changing everything else.
