Now I've heard everything ...

Now that's something you don't hear every day... :-D

I am even more impressed if that was one of our feeds picking up that hand-held. If so, which one?

It was taken from the new "CZYZ Toronto Ctr (Sault Low)" feed. This radio is located at the Sault Ste Marie (YAM) airport and is monitoring Toronto Center on 132.650 (also located at the airport).
However the LiveATC radio wasn't picking up Bathtub Guy directly but via relay (cross-coupling) through the Wiarton remote site. He was probably transmitting on 132.575, the low altitude sector frequency there.
The town of Wiarton is right beside the airport so the guy was probably no more than 1-2nm from the transmitter. Wiarton is about 177nm from Sault Ste Marie.

What amazes me is that Bathtub Guy seemed to think it was perfectly OK to do a radio check while soaking in his tub...

I'd like to know who had the "hand-held" and did he have the authority to use it? Was it a civilian breaking the law?
-
Did he have a 'float plane' rating or a rubber duck rating ?

"So I guess you're not in an airplane?"
