Title: Female Air Refueling Boom Op is asked How Many Chicks on Board?
Post by: av8tor172 on December 04, 2013, 04:18:11 PM
This is a recording of the Boom Op freq of BOLT 07 (KC-135 McDill AFB, Tampa) while conducting air refuel operations in support of COMPUTEX exercises over the Central Florida coast.  This was recorded today at about 3:30PM EST. Freq = 287.000 MHz

About half way though this recording you'll hear BANSHEE 16 ask the female boom operator (the one with the cute voice!) 'How many chicks you have on board?'.

How to Not Be Politically Correct while Refueling in Mid Air.

Hi George,

I think he was referring to the number of fighters in tow. Chicks is the brevity code for 'friendly aircraft'.

Thanks for providing this feed. It sounds great!

Yes, but he said "How many chicks ON BOARD"

Agreed. If referring to planes would have said something like "how many chicks in tow."  :-D

In my youthful days I had a few "on board", with some preferring to have me "in tow".
