A short clip about how TCAS compares to ADS-B (the pilots perspective)

According to my evaluation, the shipment qualities of these two companies are not much different. They are actually providing good services for the shipment. ADSB is definitely using workforce for the shipment that I noticed.

What I read here: http://www8.garmin.com/aviation/adsb.html ADSB is going to help conventional radar because it works at low altitude and has nothing to do with TCAS, which will remain in service. ADSB therfore works better near and at airports rather than in cruize flight...

The only problem is that a majority of TRACON facilities still don't (and won't for a while) have the STARS radar upgrade that is needed to observe and track ADS-B aircraft. If there's any indication as to how long ADS-B implementation will take, just look at the fact that Colorado's Department of Transportation spend several million dollars on a new system that does what ADS-B will be able to do for controllers in the future. Granted, low altitude radar is not the only goal of ADS-B, but it is certainly a key point of the program.

I would really like to see when ADS-B in is going to be supported so our rather significant investment in new avionic equipment will actually provide us some benefits (free datalink weather, traffic, etc.).  So far the only mention is compliance with ADS-B out equipment by 2020.  That's a hefty price tag (approximately $8,000) attached for very little benefit at least at the present time.

I thought ZHU was running ADS-B?   They won't upgrade their system until it supports it.
