The Reno Tahoe Airport Authority reports tonight that a FedEx cargo plane experienced a incident prior to takeoff this evening, with reports indicating a possible fire on its right engine.

Emergency services were alerted, and the Fire Department swiftly responded to the scene. Upon arrival and inspection, firefighters reported no visible signs of fire on the aircraft.  The decision was made to have the aircraft return to the gate for a thorough investigation. This precautionary measure will allow responding fire crews to conduct a detailed inspection of the engine and ensure the safety of the aircraft before any further operations.

Authorities have also confirmed that there were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
