« on: January 14, 2010, 22:50:01 UTC »
January 14, 2010, around 2100-2200z Travis Rapcon was evacuated. I never found out the reason for the evacuation.

It may have been a drill. Travis AFB has detailed procedures for handoff of ATC responsibilities in event of evacuation. That may have been a surprise test / rehearsal.

There appears to be nothing in the press about it.

A few months ago they had fire alarms going off as well, they evacuated the building that time too.

No drill. Just some bad batteries that overheated and smelt pretty bad. Just gave up airspace as a precaution.
