EWR COA1626 Emergency
« on: January 26, 2011, 12:05:07 PM »
COA1626 reported smoke in the cockpit shortly after departure from EWR this morning during the snowstorm. Initial report of the emergency was on tower. Here is the clip from the final controller:

http://archive-server.liveatc.net/kewr/KEWR-App-RBV-Jan-26-2011-1530Z.mp3

He does a great job vectoring other aircraft around in pseudo holding patterns while managing the emergency and bad weather at the same time. This guy used to work in Philly and is always a pleasure to listen to.

File is too long for me to download, can you  cut it down to the incident it self?

That's not playing for me.  Says audio codec is missing.  Anyone else have this problem?

Could be something on my end. The program I use is stubborn when trying to convert to mp3. It seemed fine on my end, does any one else have an issue with the clip?

Played just fine for me...I use Itunes as my player.

Good clip!

You referenced the program being stubborn...I like Audacity...works real nice! Give it a shot!

Hi, I'm new here, and this is my first post. Just tried this for the first time, and wanted to let you know that I'm hearing everything loud and crystal-clear on my WMP.
I'm 74 and don't fly any more (except on my FSX ) and I'm finding Live ATC very interesting. Thanks for providing this down-load, and also if there are any flight-simmers around how can I locate them?
Thanks again, and have a great day
Wopchek.

Well hi there, welcome to this forum... Here at this website is the real thing, has nothing to do with FSX or other games. Allthough pilots also do training in advanced simulators, you won't see it here I  think.  So it won't be easy to locate simmers from this site....

Have a nice time around here

I've never had this error/issue before while posting a clip. I think I finally have the correct file of this incident. File type/bit rate looks good, file size is 11.4MB. I keep getting this error every time I try to reupload. Any Ideas....?

Hopefully Dave will get back to you but I did see this same issue awhile back and it proved to be, as I recall, a server problem.

Wopcheck,

I probably won't have the chance to be a pilot, so the closest that I can do is flight simming and  coming to this great website.

If you are interested in looking for other forums about flight simming, check out:
www.avsim.com.  There are loads of people on the site.

I apologize if my message is off topic, moderators feel free to delete if needed.

Cheers, CK

Hi Blaze
Thanks for the info. I'll check out that web-site. I am a former General Aviation pilot, so I'm finding things here to be very interesting. The flite-sim thing was kind of an after-thought, and like you, I'm an aviation enthusiast.
Also, like you, I used to think I would probably never have a chance to be a pilot, but I had a dream, and it came true, so If you have that same dream, it will probably come true for you too, and if it does, you'll never forget the
experience for the rest of you life !!
Have a great day !
Wopcheck. :-)
