Can anyone obtain the audio recording from an emergency I heard 2 days ago around Denver. Sounded like a Piper Malibu or Mirage. Possible engine failure. Any word about the pilot and pax? Pilot sounded cool as a cucumber.

What frequency or station were you listening to? On LiveATC, or your own radio? What time of day?

It was around 1430 local time in Denver. I was flying into Centennial and caught the traffic on gaurd frequency. He declared a mayday on gaurd and ended up talking to Denver TRACON and getting walked on by Flight Service. They switched him over to 133.? THe pilot didnt seem to flustered by the conjestion, only concerned with whether or not they would find the wreckage. Stated something about landing trying to land on a dirt road. If it was a Malibu, they are pretty wide to land on a dirt road...just saying. Hope they are ok.

1430MT would be 2030Z (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converted.html?iso=20120918T1430&p1=75&p2=0&p3=&p4=&p5=&p6=&p7=&p8=&p9=&p10=&p11=&p12=). Presuming "two days ago" was Tuesday 9/18, I listened to the hourly material for the entire 2000Z set for Denver Center Low (http://www.liveatc.net/search/f.php?freq=128.375), which includes the TRACON frequencies for the area SE of Denver, as well as 121.5.
There are a lot of frequencies on that feed, so continuity of conversations is tough, but I heard nothing I could relate to this incident.
Was it indeed on Tuesday 9/18 around 2:30pm in the afternoon, local time?

Looks like the pilot survived and was the only soul on board. Spoke to some line guys at Centennial...they say the aircraft left TacAir around 2100Z. They remembered the aircraft because it required a jump start from a GPU. One of the guys reports that the aircraft landed in the town of Kiowa. Hope this helps...

A/c was a Malibu, N188SR. Landed safely in an open field near Kiowa on 9/18/2012 at 2145Z. No injuries or bad damage, just a busted nose gear.

Outstanding! Kiowa is Southeast of Centennial. We fly over it every week on the PLAINS4 departure. Rolling terrain, not much flat land around. Great job Captain!! TangoWhiskey....is it still possible to hear those tapes?

Unfortunately, I had to lock out Guard due to interference. You may also want to try the KAPA archives.
