Title: El Al 005 (Boeing 777) divert to KBIL engine fire
Post by: mtpiper on November 15, 2015, 03:23:11 PM
El Al 005 LLBG-KLAX made an emergency landing at KBIL (Billings, MT) this morning due to a #2 engine fire indication (no evidence of fire found after landing).
I was able to combine the ZLC, KBIL approach, and tower/ground recordings into one file.
I truncated the silence, but it's still a 22 minute clip, sorry.
The fist 2.5 minutes is mono, then I split the channels left and right, keeping transmissions synced, then back to mono when El Al switched over to tower/ground.

EDIT: I got in a hurry posting this. The first 8 minutes are one-sided conversation, plus discussion between tower and airport rescue. I believe ZLC left them on a different frequency (not 127.75) until handing them off to approach control at KBIL.
