A380 "Super" arriving at KJFK

Airbus A-380 Flight LH8940 arriving at KJFK.  Tower and Ground tracks.  Quiet spaces removed.  Must have been quite a day.  About 15 minutes length.  "Official" greeting is about 11 minutes into tape.  Beep inserted at tower-ground switch.

I listened to this live and was impressed by how many helos the poor guy on TWR had to deal with. That has to be annoying to a TWR controller,  especially when its a bunch of newsies and site seers.

Anyone catch the person that piped in with “Baba Booey” at the 4:43 mark?

I liked how the A380 pilot emphasized he did not need to use runway 31 for taxi!  ATC tried to make it sound like another ho hum day, despite many helicopters and security vehicles, except for "Jet Blue you may want to look out your left window!" and Comair stating they "would follow the traffic".

love at abou 12:46 a Lufthsansa or how you spell it pilot begins to use an Air Canada callsign LOL.

It's Gemini Air Cargo, they use their contractors call sign, LufCargo,ACCargo, etc. very confusing. Notice the pilot was American.

Did you also hear someone (late in the recording, checking in on the 22L approach) who appended "Super" to his call sign?  I think I detected a slight chuckle from the controller.

As for the "Baba Booey" -- why the ___ was that in there?

If i heard it right it was Freedom Air 6190 Super

I just got back from watching the other A380 takeoff from LAX.  Borrowed my buddy's scanner and planted nicely just south of the end of the runway...We really need to get an LAX feed, btw.

That thing is a big sucker with a shallower climb than the 744 that took off shortly before it...very quiet too!
