Title: EAM and ORDERWIRE on UHF - Related to Malaysia Airlines being shoot down?
Post by: av8tor172 on July 17, 2014, 07:44:12 PM
This recording was at 2150 UTC today. At 2150 UTC today I started hearing EAM messages on UHF 323.800 MHz, this is very rare!.

Also an hour before the EAM an E-4B (Doomsday) aircraft appears on my mode-s receiver descending.  I would guess
he is landing at Patrick AFB (about 40 miles south of me).  This isn't that rare, but today?

Add to that a E-6B TACAMO aircraft also appears on my Mode-S about same time as the EAM message, probably who was broadcasting the EAM.
The tone you hear in the background is that of the ORDERWIRE (WBFM) system on frequency 338.950 MHz

Not to mention at the same time an E-8C (JSTAR) out of Robbins AFB appears on Mode-S.

Could this all be related to todays shoot down?  Wanna take bets!

Last night at 0020 UTC and again 0040 UTC copied more EAMs on 323.800
MHz. Better copy this time and better recording.

For more information on what EAMs are you can check this out:
http://milaircomms.com/ghfs.html  While 99.9% of the time you'll hear EAMs on HF it is rare to catch them on UHF....

Keep those scanners SEARCHING, not SCANNING for Maximum Results!

How do you think these might be related? Never heard of EAMs before. What is the timing of these in relation to the airplane going down? Could it possibly be related to the military detecting a SAM launch?

I would say they're related to detecting a SAM launch.  I would more say could be the military passing coded traffic to maintain a higher than normal Alert Level.

For a day or so after 9-11 the EAM traffic was non-stop...

Couple the rare EAM on UHF with the type of aircraft flying our area here in Florida at the same time.  Its not very often you see an E-4, E-6 and an E-8 in the same day not to mention within in a few hours!  Could be training, but again, rare....  Just a coincidence with the timing of the shootdown? Maybe but I'm not a firm believer in coincidences...

8 scanners now searching the 225-400 MHz spectrum, a few other scanners scanning specific frequencies....You never know what might come out of my speakers....

Sure, someone using SAMs in eastern Ukraine is an immediate threat to Florida's security.  Oh, sorry: Sure, someone using SAMs in eastern Ukraine is an immediate threat to Florida's security ...

I'm sure Florida wasn't the only location in the USA where there was "more than normal" military activity.

Fact, an E-4B was here (still might be on the ground at Patrick AFB).

Fact, E-6 in area for longer than normal.

Fact, E-6 broadcasting at least three EAM's (possibly to the E-4B crew on ground at Patrick).

Fact, Patrick - MacDill (USCENTOM / USSOCOM & SOCENT), Eglin, 3 high value military bases. Fact, Florida only 90 miles from Cuba (a Russia puppet)

Fact, anytime there is an International Incident EAM traffic is on the increase, Military traffic is on the increase....

2 + 2 still equals 4 in my book.

There was also an increase (at least double) in fighter jet traffic over my area (I'm near Andrews AFB), so it's not just Flordia that saw an increase in Military traffic, radio or plane.  It's better to be prepared than to be caught by surprise.

The E-4B was at Patrick because of the airshow at Offutt (kind of messes up an alert bird)
