This "gear up touch and go" is getting some attention on Facebook and elsewhere... e.g.

What I can work out... Aerostar N7502S did that gear up landing at Aero Acres Airpark (FD88), April 11th and managed to get airborne again and then flew back to Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE), about 70 nautical miles away.

I have managed to find an arrival call back for N7502S at FXW, audio segment attached, this happens about 6:45 into KFXE-Twr-Apr-11-2015-1700Z-09

I believe FXE is the home airport of that Aerostar. I am not sure where the flight that day originated but I can't find any more radio calls, e.g.. to Miami Approach. I'm curious if the pilot contacted ATC at all about his "incident" and would appreciate any help in finding any more calls.

Some other info...

Unfortunately a mostly clueless article  and just a link to the video I already linked to.

And errors in that article...

Aero Acres has a paved not a dirt runway.

N7502S is an Aerostar 601 not a 601P, clear from its FAA registration, and other online mention of the aircraft. (looks like the "author" just cut and pasted something about the 601P from elsewhere... actually if you read the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piper_Aerostar)  for the Aerostar you can see exactly how he repeatedly lifted text from there and rearranged it, without any attribution).

The Trade-a-plane advertisement (http://www.trade-a-plane.com/detail/aircraft/Multi+Engine+Piston/1970/Aerostar/601/2076612.html) for that aircraft seems to have been made and posted to at least one online forum very quickly and contains easily findable public information about the aircraft/owner. It might have been posted by somebody as joke. it would be interesting to know.

Sorry about that. I removed the link I posted. I am at work and my company's firewall doesn't allow me to access anything on Facebook so I didn't know it was the same thing. The whole thing is definitely a bit strange though - regardless of the accuracy of the article. I'm interested to hear the results of whatever inquiry will come that pilot's way....
