Delta B752 near Nashville engine shut down in flight

A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N6708D performing flight DL-356 from Atlanta,GA to Sacramento,CA (USA) with 202 people on board, was climbing through FL270 out of Atlanta when the crew stopped the climb reporting they had needed to shut an engine (PW2037) down. On approach to Nashville the crew advised they were in icing conditions and due to the nature of the engine shut down could not continue in icing conditions. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Nashville's runway 20L about 30 minutes after stopping the climb.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration N6715C reached Sacramento with a delay of 6 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Nashville about 27 hours after landing.
