Delta 5684 turbulence diversion
« on: June 19, 2010, 08:28:17 PM »
On Tuesday, June 15, Delta Connection flight 5684, en route from ATL to CVG, experience severe turbulence and made an emergency landing at LEX.  Apparently, passengers were pretty shaken up but the plane was inspected and allowed to continue on within an hour.  In response to ATC's question about aircraft damage, it's interesting to hear the pilot say "Unsure.  we're following the QRH procedure...we went through very severe turbulence.  We were violently shaken about.  We're not sure.  Just following what the book tells us."  Gotta love checklists.  Pilot sounded a bit shaken himself.
