Title: Delta 110 ATL - LAX Jan 07, 2009 - Passenger Incident
Post by: kea001 on January 08, 2009, 09:02:03 PM

2 min. before landing, a passenger pushes a male flight attendant to the floor
and then goes to open the rear exit.

Sound file not as dramatic as 'Magnum Force' but you gotta love the pilot's delivery.
Must be doing some moonlighting in Hollywood during layovers.

I think this is the story.  He was from Kentucky and apparently will NOT face federal charges.

I was always under the impression that once a passenger says the B-word, all bets are off.  The aircraft will go to the airport's designated area, and that person, once the situation is diffused, is automatically guaranteed reservations in the local federal jail.

I thought so too.

Could somebody, for understanding purposes, write down the full sentence the pilot mentioned after the tower says to remain on tower frequency and ending with the pilot saying "he has a bomb"?
Thank you very much in advance

"Understand, but we got a passenger's (bag?) that's been restrained,  we need the authorities called to the airplane and he has mentioned...he has a bomb."

Captain had something commonly referred to as a 'southern drawl'; a bit of an accent.

See 'Southern Drawl':

He should never be allowed to fly again. Good Catch.
