CYYZ Tower evacuation due smoke/fire
« on: November 28, 2006, 10:43:53 PM »
Heard on the feed at around 21:09 EST (0209z) that CYYZ tower had been evacuated due to fire/smoke.  A few planes which were in the terminal area already were asked to hold (at the marker beacon)

The feed was having a bit of noise issue but if you want to hear it, it is at

When service is back to normal, they begun to clear the backlog in CAT II operations due fog.

Yikes.  When they get the CAT III rolling on 05 will they be able to run parallel CAT 2 or 3 approaches?

Just wanted to add the link to the Centre audio from the same time, you can hear them throwing inbounds from all directions into a hold.  The audio here is loud and clear.  The feeder actually has the terminal/tower fequencies on there, but you seldom here transmissions due to the centre frequencies.
