Landing runway 35 in PHL with some ships in the harbor. We just landed and heard the following.

Is PHL a training airport (like training hospitals)?  The controllers there are always beating themselves up over something.

Sorry guys, I meant absolutely no offense.  I've flown into PHL several times and they always seem to be keeping things running smoothly.  What I meant was that it seems like there are several clips of PHL controllers forgetting things or, in this instance, being hard on themselves.  Just like it seems like there are more clips from JFK that feature angry controllers, or more clips from BOS that feature, well, just cool controllers.  Anyway, sorry if I offended anyone; I should not have worded my post that way.  If you'd like some revenge, you can hear me on the KRDU feed tomorrow (callsign: Skyhawk 5087J) around 21-2200 UTC while I make a fool of myself on my first solo x-country.

I took it as the controller just making a joke and being funny. I'm based out of PHL and the controllers have it rough with being squeezed within New York and Washington airspace. If you were in there and things were running smoothly then you need to mark that day on your calender because it never does! I don't think the controllers beat themselves up there. Whether the controller was being serious or just joking, it just seems to be a continuous theme at PHL.  (I guess you could call it being silly, which is just fine in my opinion.?)  I have flown there three times during peak traffic times (on US Airways) and never had a delay, never sat on the taxiways for more than a few minutes.  Thanks for the solo x-country luck...I guess it worked becuase it went great!
