Caribbean 600 fuel emergency - Updated
« on: April 01, 2014, 06:31:24 PM »
On HF 6557 today (now) at around 22:20Z... BWA600 TTPP/CYYZ declared emergency due to fuel problem. First wanted to go direct Bermuda, then changed their mind for Norfolk. Reported 95 SOB and 80 minutes endurance. Attempting to hand off to VHF 126.02 now. Will post clip later, somebody should dig up Norfolk.

Here's the feed link: http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=hf_car_ct&icao=Stamford%20HF

2300Z Update - Apparently on 126.025 by now, scheduled to arrive at 2321Z... if his calculations were right he will have 20 minutes of fuel left. You can assume he will be staying at cruise altitude to the last moment, descent profile should be interesting.

2316Z Update - Heard him on KORF approach, too bad the feed has a serious delayed audio feedback loop problem, barely understandable.

Epilogue - Turns out they arrived alive and dry. Added the clip of the HF communications.

Must have had a fuel pump failure or somebody left the gas cap off... Only fuel from one tank.
