wow
i would have been reaching for the red phone!
-
the comments from the 'peanut gallery' are great...
my favorite is "you can lift it up any time now" hehehehehe
-
Tower personell??? How do you think the crew felt!!! Change of shorts, anyone?!?!?!
-
I take it they could not get to take-off speed. The only thing I can imagine is that they took off with unfavorable wind.
-
The Vodka burner is rolling.
-
Holy Crap :-o Talk about leaving things till the last second!
-
Dang, the video has been taken down already. Anymore like it?

Holy ****!
That is either a crew that went over the takeoff performance data extremely well or a crew that just said "Looks good enough. Let's give it a try".
Wow! And yes, the peanut gallery comments are interesting.
Thanks!!!

OK. That is just nuts. Absolutely nuts. Even if you are not concerned with legality, at least don't just be utterly unsafe.

Incident: Egyptair A320 near Cairo on Mar 5th 2009, Russian diplomacy leads to return
An Egyptair Airbus A320-200, flight MS-691 (dep. Mar 4th) from Cairo (Egypt) to Sanaa (Yemen), returned to Cairo after Russian diplomats travelling as passengers and exercising their diplomatic skills engaged in a shouting match and finally a fist and kick fight about 30 minutes into the flight. The airplane landed safely about one hour after takeoff.
Both diplomats received cuts and bruises. The Russian Embassy resolved the quarrel and removed one of the diplomats from the flight amid outraged comments by fellow travellers.

They are lucky to have gotten out with only bruises to skin and ego.
I hate that some people look at this profession the same way they look at workers at a fast food restauraunt and feel pilots' main function is to be subservient.
Playing fast and loose with this skill/profession annoys me.
-
Unfortunately, there are not any professions that I know of that trump diplomatic immunity.
Fortunately, pilots are well-suited to face such difficulties as they are trained to expect the unexpected.
-
i have seen this many times before, it always amazes me. after asking a few people it seems the vodka burner was not using all the juice in the burners.
One thing i can not wait to see is an a380 landing at SXM. now that will be a sight.
-
Wow thats some old footage though, im pleased to say our runway here in canberra had been extended, but having said that the "vodka burner" would still use the whole bloody lot
-
lol- " We pay all runway, we use all runway"
