Iron Maiden's 757 "tour bus" arrives in Toronto
« on: March 17, 2008, 21:36:15 UTC »
These images were captured as Iron Maiden landed at Toronto Pearson International for the Toronto leg of their tour. It's interesting to note the 757 is actually flown by frontman Bruce Dickenson.

I'll be sure to pick out a good spot at the foot of the runway when Led Zeppelin come to town!

I had no idea that Iron Maiden was still collecting enough cash to be able to purchase their own 757.  Very nice pictures, there.

they kinda didn't. They kinda got it for free!

The B757 (appropriately named Ed Force One) is owned/operated by Astraeus Airlines. Bruce Dickinson (singer for Iron Maiden) actually flies for them, and pilots their B737s on a daily basis. He's opted to fly the entire band for their world tour, and that's the plane they're using. You should see good pics of that on A.net, or in the latest editions of Airways, Airliners, or AirlinerWorld magazines.

iron maiden often play the 'download festival' near me which is situated on a racetrack right next to east midlands airport, UK. they situated the stage directly below the approach end of the runway. it adds some awesome atmosphere to the performance.

plus i think i've just figured out why bruce dickinson loves playing here so much. he can go spotting whilst performing. planes and music? it's a good deal.

see attatched pic!

the captain is wearing "bars" on his shoulders?? anyone else see that?  he's required to wear a uniform while flying his own tour plane?  or is that not him?

FLY ON 'ED FORCE ONE' * with Captain Bruce Dickinson at the controls and see IRON MAIDEN LIVE!

The best way to go to a Maiden show! This is your chance to fly on ED FORCE ONE - the actual 757 plane currently transporting the band crew and equipment around the world on the first leg of their SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME TOUR - with Captain Bruce Dickinson.

The interior seating will have been reverted back to its original format,  but the plane, including the IRON MAIDEN livery (subject to wear and tear) will be exactly as the band and crew have experienced these past months travelling the world.

You too will be flown by Captain Bruce Dickinson, and later witness him on stage with IRON MAIDEN for their amazing two hour show before flying back or staying overnight.

Ah, OK.  That makes more sense.  Thanks for the correction.
