Boston John fun - continued
« on: June 04, 2007, 19:16:06 UTC »
Hi guys,

Here’s some afternoon delight with Boston John. The original recordings are still in the archives. Couldn’t resist to post these clips.

There’s a lot of the usual we already know from him. What I like much, though, is the pilots who join in and make funny comments, too, I think one of them is quite ironic.

Anyone get what Windrider says in the first clip at about 1:05? At least it makes Bos John chuckle...

Their schedules are changing all the time, tough to predict...

He really keeps a nice balance between professional and friendly. Honestly I think people probably pay a little more attention when hes on the mic. Just a guy that loves what he does and adds his own flavor while keeping it professional.

Hello!

I've been listening to KBOS for several months on LiveATC.net.  I look forward to hearing the controller I now understand is apparently a celebrity - Boston John.  I just stumbled into the LiveATC.net forums yesterday, and was surprised to find that I was not the only one that enjoyed listening to him!  LOL!

We recently had to take a relative to KBOS for a flight to Europe, and we lucky enough to find a place to park where we could actually watch the ground traffic with Boston John as the controller.

It's all over this forum if you do a quick search, but...from the CapeAir website: http://www.flycapeairjobs.com/MOCHAHAGoTDI.html

It's the CapeAir Employee Motto... Making Our Customers Happy and Having A Good Time Doing It!

ATC is a 24 hour service, controllers work in shifts. If you want to know what hours John is on duty, you'll need a copy of his schedule. Furthermore, when an ATC is on duty he does not have to be on frequency: he could be coordinating or supervising a trainee (where the trainee does all talking).

Best thing is to learn to enjoy John's colleagues while they do their job. :-)

I guess you're just kidding here... Flight safety is John's primary job, he isn't paid to entertain you. I think that all ATC deserve respect for their part in making flying the safest mode of transportation.
