Title: Baltimore Railroad Incident 5/28/13
Post by: tom247 on May 30, 2013, 11:59:35 PM
This past Tuesday, May 28, 2013, a CSX freight train hit a truck on a private crossing. Rail cars containing haz mats caught fire and one exploded. The shockwave was felt over 20 miles away. Sky Team 11, the WBAL-TV news helicopter crew based at Martin State Airport heard it and felt their hangar shaking from the blast about 5 miles away. They didn't know what it was and were airborne within minutes.

I combined the KMTN Ground/Misc 1800, 1830, & 1900Z archives and cut out the dead air. The feed is shared with KMTN Ground/Clearance and I cut out those transmissions. So it's the first hour and a half compressed down to about 5 min 45 sec.
