BA 222 arrival to LHR on 9/15/18 - Help finding feed if possible
« on: September 15, 2018, 05:47:39 AM »
I was monitoring BA 222 flight from BNA to LHR this morning and saw that they slowed their descent and did a few spins about 28 minutes prior to arrival. Is this likely just due to spacing? Is there any way to access the feed at that time or is listening in on all feeds prohibited in the UK? Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can provide.

Hi,

First of all, sharing the air band is prohibited in the UK so unfortunately, LiveATC can't do anything there. Same thing with Spain, Italy and many other countries in Europe.

Holdings are very common in Heathrow, especially in the morning. So - I don't know the case - it might be a regular holding over one of the VORs (BIG, OCK, BNN or LAM) just for spacing and arrival flow.

I've just checked the BA222 track of today and they just did one loop over the BNN hold and then the aircraft was vectored for a 27R approach. Nothing to worry about apparently.
