Audio Released from COA1404, off runway in Denver
« on: February 27, 2009, 11:56:37 AM »
the tower Audio from the Continental flight 1404, B735 that went off the runway into a ditch in January at KDEN, has been released.  I can't find it on NATCA or FAA websites but I have it here on our local news:

Pretty interesting audio, the fire crew had some trouble finding the accident aircraft at first.  Tower is professional and calm, makes for interesting audio.

Thanks for posting.  Interesting listening to the fire response going the wrong way...

How'd you like to be on Delta 9632 taking off on 25 watching the Continental plane burning as you take off?

It sounded like someone said,"c'mon guys" when the rescue was having issues locating the airplane.

I heard "Come on guys" as well. Not sure who it was. The tower controller was giving great directions. He pin pointed the location. At one poit he says "Your fire truck is going the wrong way", or somthing to that affect.

Nice clip by the way! :-D

It worries me that the controller was able to tell the rescue ops exactly where the aircraft was, however they still had some trouble getting there.

Yea, he even told them what direction to go when they left the firehouse! You would hope Airport Fire Fighters would be familure with the Airport!  :-D

Whats scary is the accident occurred adjacent to the fire house and yet the controller gave clear directions there still some confusion!

Maybe it would have been better if he had said "Pull out, turn left at the big oak tree....."

But yes, the aircraft came to rest right near the firehouse...on fire...and they still couldn't find it

"North of Wiskey Charlie, West of 34R" "East of the Firehouse" "Eastbound out of the fire house"

He actually says it twice!

"Opps 7, looks like your truck is heading southbound, is that what they want to do, away from the aircraft?"
