Title: ATC conversation with script?
Post by: lord_jakub on April 26, 2009, 10:17:41 AM
Hello,

Does anyone know where I can find record with ATC with script. So I could listen the record with conversation and watch it on the text, so that I would not have any doubts if I know what they are talking about. Do you have soething like that? Do you know where I can find stuff like that?
It could be very helpful for me.

Thank you very much
Jakub

Jakub,

A lot of times when clips are played on Youtube they have subtitles so that you can understand what what exactly is being said.  Do a search for ATC communications and you will be able to find some.

The FAA and NTSB sites have lots of recordings and transcripts.  I don't recommend YouTube videos

Why don't you recommend YouTube videos?
For someone who has trouble connecting to clips because he doesn't want to download them onto his computer YouTube is very convenient.  Just my opinion.

I think all he's getting at is that quite often YouTube videos are transcribed by amateurs and as such contain some inaccuracies. For what it's worth, I find some quite good but you should always take the transcript with a pinch of salt!

I concur, FAA and NTSB sites probably have more accurate transcripts..

How about the listeners forum? Topic Lastwords? You can play the atc links and the dates are transcripts, so while reading you can listen to parts or whole voice recordings. . . Just a hint

Alltheway referenced a topic in the listener forum...here are the links again...

The site below has several transcripts...some of them have an audio clip with the transcript...unfortunately the outcome of most of these was not good...

http://www.planecrashinfo.com/lastwords.htm

Also more available here. Again, the outcome of most is not good:

I will caution the recordings are chilling and sometimes scary...listen with caution.
