Title: AS 448 out of KSEA with baggage handler in the hold?
Post by: Close@Hand on April 13, 2015, 09:57:15 PM
If I understand correctly, sometime around 21:30 Zulu on the 13th AS 448 departed Seatlle with a baggage handler still in the hold. He banged on the roof of the hold and pilot landed at KSEA 15 minutes later.

I can find tower telling them to line up and wait around 6:48 and cleared for takeoff about 7:50, and contact departure around 9:07 on http://archive-server.liveatc.net/ksea/KSEA_TWR-Apr-13-2015-2130Z.mp3 .. is that the right archive? Anyone willing to look for the rest and immortalize it?

I don't have the right software to produce an edited clip, but the landing runs from about 20:15 to 24:12. Between the takeoff and that point, they can be heard on the Approach and Final Approach feeds. What I found sounded like a nearly routine landing, not as amusing as you might think. But I didn't catch the part where the crew declares the emergency and explains what's going on. Maybe that was on a different channel.

My program of choice to edit those large clips is Audacity. It works great for me.

As we don't have Departure feed we cannot hear when the pilots request to come back so... It's not that fun
