Archie League Awards Tonight at 11pm Eastern
« on: March 03, 2009, 15:34:07 UTC »

The 2009 Archie League Awards for outstanding Air Traffic Control flight assists is being held tonight in Las Vegas.  The event will be broadcast live at 8pm Pacific (11pm Eastern): http://www.natca.org/mediacenter/CFS09-livefeed.msp

Also the transcriptions and recordings are available here: http://www.natca.org/mediacenter/Archie2009-Audio-Transcripts.msp

(Excuse the picture.....it's actually the Fifth Annual Archie League Awards.  And listen to the Southwest region one at LCH - it's awesome.)

I think you have the times mixed up. Do you perhaps mean 5PM Pacific, 8PM Eastern?

That's some really good work. I thought the other pilot telling him to stay calm and fly the plane was a good thing to at least let him know he was not totally alone.

When I hear stuff like this it really makes me realize how much my job sucks...:)

Thanks for the link

Thanks for posting the info, JD.  I watched the end of the current session about CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) and learned quite a lot.  At the moment, it looks like ALPA is leading the way, but NATCA is close behind.  I think a caught a glimpse of Jeff Skiles in the audience as well -- good to see he was invited to attend.
