On August 19, an Air France Boeing 777-300ER (AFR009) was cruising at FL350 when the flight crew called a Mayday due to a No.2 engine failure. They descended to FL240 and asked to go back to JFK even though KBOS was much closer. They managed to get the engine restarted and continued to JFK where they landed safely a short time later on runway 4L. Emergency equipment was waiting for them on landing.
