CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Multiple crews responded to a report of a strange odor on an American Airlines flight to Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Friday morning.
The crew first reported the smell a few minutes after 6 a.m. Medic was called to the airport for an "aircraft emergency," but the agency confirmed its units were canceled. Flight-tracking website Flight Aware indicated the flight was heading to Charlotte from Pittsburgh. A Charlotte airport spokesperson confirmed the plane landed safely and that no fumes or odors were detected in the cabin. An American Airlines spokesperson said no one was hurt during the incident. Airport operations have resumed as normal.
