Title: American 1193 Emergency Vibrations/Fumes/Bird Strike at KMEM
Post by: bugalou on July 25, 2011, 11:50:53 PM
This happened 7/22.  Pilot reports vibrations and electrical fumes and returns to Memphis International for a safe landing.   This ended up being caused by a bird strike.

I edited the clip to condense it.  The feed was very busy at the time so a few transmissions got stepped on by other frequencies but most of the good parts are there including the emergency declaration.

I knew it one of these days a bird strike would happen. Lots and Lots of flocks fly in that area..must be playing the bird version of Frogger.
