Title: airspeed problem

Trying to figure out what he was talking about. Sounds like the airspeed indicator went dead? He had just been cleared out of the class D and frequency change when he came back with this. He is flying a cessna 172.

Hard to tell form what he is saying what exactly the problem with the airspeed is.  My guess would be the airspeed indicator stopped working correctly.  From my experience I have had an airspeed not come alive on T/O so I have aborted take off.  Obviously not the situation here but if it stopped working in flight and relatively close to the airport, I would return.

thats a safe bet, It was at night too. So less things to give you an idea how fast you are moving on final.

what's the name of the tower and aircraft call sign? Can anyone hear that?

A/C: L.A. tower n two o quebec
TWR: Go ahead
A/C two o quebec were having a airspeed problem

I am not sure though if it is N28Q or N20Q

The n-number (partial) is 2RQ.  The first couple of times he says it sounds like 21Q but then the tower comes back and says "2 are cue" using the initials instead of saying Romeo Quebec.  The last time the pilot acknowledges he says it the clearest.
