Title: Aircraft destroyed at Orlando, KMCO
Post by: Hollis on July 12, 2007, 06:24:20 PM
According to the FAA report, this aircraft, N105GC, a PA31, lost the engine cowl in flight and made an emergency landing at Orlando International. It was subsequently destroyed after catching fire following the (safe) landing.
All I could find was this (edited) clip of the twr traffic at that time.

If I may add, next time a source and even a date/time would be a good thing include in your post. Here's a source I found:

It appears to have happened yesturday, 7/11/07, in the late morning.
Also, the pilot got out safely.

Bummer of a week in Florida!  :|  :-o

Quick check of FlightAware shows the flight occurring on 7/11/07 from 11:41am EDT to 12 noon PDT (1441Z to 1500Z). That should give a good timeframe.

Aircraft was a PA31/A.

BL.
