Is it just me, or do the Boeing GPWS callouts sound much more intelligent than the airbus?  I don't like an airplane calling me a retard anyway

Only an Airbus would call you a retard.  Sounds like a depressed Brit getting winded making the altitude callouts.

Maybe the "retard retard retard" portion would make a good ringtone.

"Retard... retard... retard"

Oh, there's the wife again... hang on a minute.

yes i agree with that. But boeing still use a wheel to steer where as when in an airbus you can treat it like a video game.

Except with a Boeing's yoke, you are telling the aircraft where to go.  In an airbus's nintendo joystick, you are only recommending to the airplane where you'd like it to go, and it'll decide if it is in the mood to do so.

Do I sound a little biased here?    :-D

I'm a little late on the response here, being that the date goes back a bit,
but I'm partial to Boeing. Better product than the "Scarebus" aircraft that the Europeans are building.

My personally motto, mantra is: "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going!!!"   :-D

I just now realized you posted the audio to Dane Cook's Speak-n-spell joke... that's hilarious and you know what... it's way too true!!

So maybe what we're saying here is that the Airbus Ground Prox "speaks like the devil..."

I know one group that likes the Airbus... Airbus Mechanics.  Always plenty of overtime available.

Bag on airbus all you want but boeings not much better.  Take the 787 for example, thats been a disaster

Personally I don't completely dislike Airbus aircraft; they do have some plusses over the Boeing aircraft.  If I have to pick between the two, I'd pick Boeing over Airbus, but I'm not saying that I completely disown anything built by Airbus.

And yes the 787 has had a lot of set backs... but so did the A380.

Just to throw in my two cents worth on the above...

I dislike flying the 737 but really enjoy the 319/20.

I love flying the 757. (incidentally my favourite aircraft).
I'm indifferent on the 767 and the a330.

It doesn't have to be one or the other - You can like or dislike just a certain aircraft from each manufacturer and I've never understood the Airbus vs Boeing argument. They both have aircraft that are good at what they do (or they wouldn't sell ANY), so to me the whole thing's a no brainer.

That's the thought I always had, I don't appreciate my airplane calling me a retard on the flare! lol

The entire argument is null and void anyway...everyone knows the best airplane ever built was the Lockheed L-1011!!   :-P Just kidding!!

I agree with ect76, both manufactures have airplanes that are good at what they do. And I agree on the B757, always been a fav of mine...but not even close to the B747! 8-)
