AF1 - 8/11/2009
« on: August 12, 2009, 02:24:30 PM »
I flew from MTN - ESN yesterday for lunch on the Eastern Shore in N52407. Well, getting flight following on the way over I heard an interesting call after I was radar contact. "Potomac Approach, Air Force 1 with you 6.5 climbing 7". GRACO was the sector he talked to, and then he got switched to the ZDC SWANN sector (134.5). When I got home I went back to the archives and found it under 8/11/2009 on the 1530z - 1600z tape. He called in around 9:10 in the tape. In the SWANN tape for the same allotted time he called in around 11:00 in or so (10:54 or something like that). It sounded almost as if there were radio troubles with the SWANN sector because even though I heard both CTR and AF1 in the tapes, it seemed as if CTR couldn't hear AF1.

Just thought I'd post to let you guys know that I found him haha... I didn't post the tape, but I could if you wanted. Also, his route was amended on the SWANN tape (OOD RBV BOS PSM) so my guess is you'd be able to hear him on some of the ZBW and ZNY feeds, for those of you really interested.

Without audio, it's only a story.

Go 9:10 seconds in for the first one. The SWANN sector one starts around 12:00 minutes in.
