Choochy's Adventures at Logan !
« on: October 29, 2008, 09:46:23 AM »
You may have seen this on local news wires recently....   Choochy the pooch wreaked havoc during the morning push at Logan International Airport.  There are some 3+ hours of audio on Boston Tower frequency 128.8 between 1330-1600z.... you have to search for it yourself though.  I've heard it all- I was working Ground Control and couldn't stop laughing at this brave little mutt.  At one point he strolled across RY 33L right in front of an MD-88's tires as he was holding in position.  Doggie Deviation ?

Choochy the poodle escaped at Boston's Logan Airport on Saturday, holding up flights while officials chased the pooch.

Says the Boston Herald:

The "fast and elusive" poodle scampered across runways and taxiways at Logan International Airport over the weekend, evading airport personnel for more than 17 hours and delaying at least eight flights.
The Boston Globe says:

Gideon Lester, who was headed to New York, watched from his window aboard his 11 a.m. US Airways flight, which sat on the runway for 25 minutes as five Massport vans drove in circles trying to corral Choochy.
The poodle "seemed to be having a good time," said Lester, artistic director of the American Repertory Theatre. "They looked like they were running cattle."

Surprised someone with a tranquilizer gun couldn't have put the pooch to sleep from 100 yards and saved the airport some of the hassle.
