'Merry Christmas. My toilet's on fire'

From: CADORS

The Air Canada Embraer ERJ-170-200-SU aircraft (operating as flight ACA1043) was departing on a scheduled IFR flight from Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, TX (U.S.A.) (KDFW). ACA1043 departed runway 23 at 1440Z and the flight crew requested an immediate return to the airport with the Departure Controller. The flight crew advised that they had a fire indication in the lavatory. The aircraft was provided with a right turn and landed on runway 15L at 1444Z. ARFF services responded. At 1500Z, the aircraft taxied to the gate without further incident.

UPDATE: The Air Canada Embraer ERJ-170 aircraft (C-FEJB, operating as flight ACA1043) had just departed Toronto (LBPIA) when there was a lavatory fire/smoke indication. The flight crew decided to return to Toronto (LBPIA) and the aircraft landed without incident. ARFF services were on standby for the landing. Maintenance staff suspect that the:

smoke was due to residual detergent following a compressor wash on both engines on 2008-12-25.

Note: Go around performed by Republic (Brickyard) Airlines 3244.

Very nice find!  The pilot on the mic seemed to have a heavy workload with his abrupt responses.
