AAL1357 Emergency
« on: January 19, 2013, 12:09:42 PM »
Here's the audio file from the AAL1357 emergency aircraft from this morning.  The flight had problems with their navigation equipment and had to return to JFK shortly after takeoff.  They landed without incident.  The audio is from the time AAL1357 declared the emergency on ZNY 128.3 all the way to the landing at JFK.  It has been condensed and edited to include all the relevant transmissions and remove a lot of the dead air.

very well done...

The AVHerald has this: http://www.avherald.com/h?article=45c66dc7&opt=0

And I am wondering if the maintenance crew ripped off some spare parts from United which was parked with an engine problem, I mean this airplane took off after 2.5 hours and if they had to bring in spare parts it would be better to borrow them from United...... (would be fun to see men in overalls coming with their screwdrivers ready.)

The United is this story: http://www.avherald.com/h?article=45c751e1&opt=0
